The REI software space is full of “best tool” lists written by people who never opened the product - vendors grading themselves, or AI listicles padded for clicks. We started this lab to do the opposite: pay for the accounts, run the real workflows, log the real numbers, and publish dated, honest verdicts you can actually trust before you spend.

We make money through recurring affiliate commissions on some links, which fund the software licenses and test runs behind every review. Those commissions never buy a score - see our methodology and editorial policy.
