Why this exists

The REI software space is full of “best tool” lists written by people who never opened the product - vendors grading themselves, or AI-spun listicles padded for clicks. If you've ever searched for “best skip tracing” or “PropStream vs REsimpli” and gotten ten identical pages that clearly never logged in to anything, you know the problem.

We started this lab to do the opposite: pay for the accounts, run the real workflows, log the real numbers, and publish dated, honest verdicts - including the parts vendors would rather you skip. Every score here comes from a tool we actually used, on a real property, with our own screenshots to prove it.

So far: 4 hands-on reviews, plus 6 field guides and 4 head-to-head comparisons. See them on the reviews page or the live status board.

Why a developer tests these tools

DealStackLab is run by Salah Boussettah- a full-stack software developer, not a 20-year wholesaler. That's the point, not a disclaimer. I'm not here to sell you a coaching program or pretend a tool changed my life; I'm here to open the product, push every button, and tell you exactly what happened.

Testing software for a living is the actual skill this job needs: spotting where a workflow breaks, where the “free” plan quietly gates the useful feature, and where the sticker price hides per-use costs. When a tool's onboarding was broken, I logged it with the support ticket number. When a “95% hit rate” doesn't mean what it sounds like, I explain why. No hype, no recycled marketing.

How we test

Every review comes from a real paid account or a genuine free trial - never a vendor demo. We import real properties, run the actual workflows, capture our own screenshots, and verify pricing on the vendor's own checkout, stamping the date we checked. Then we score it against a consistent rubric and say plainly who it's not for. The full method and the scoring rubric are on our how we test page, and we re-verify prices monthly so the data stays current.

What we cover

US real-estate-investor and wholesaler software, across the jobs a deal actually needs: finding leads (driving for dollars, nationwide lists), skip tracing, deal analysis, and the CRMs that tie it together. We add a tool when we can genuinely test it on a real account - and we say so on the status boardwhile a review is in progress, rather than publishing a verdict we haven't earned.

How we make money (and what we won't do)

We earn recurring affiliate commissions on some outbound links, and that income funds the software licenses and test runs behind every review. Those commissions never buy a score- we form verdicts before any affiliate relationship is on the table, no vendor can pay for a better ranking or to remove a caveat, and we don't publish AI-generated listicles. DealStackLab is operated by BoltPath LLC, a registered US company; no vendor owns us. See our FTC disclosure and editorial policy.
