Editorial policy

Editorial

The rules we hold ourselves to, in plain language.

01 / Independence

We are not owned by, funded by, or partnered with any vendor we review. Our verdicts are formed before any affiliate relationship is considered, and they change when the product changes - not when a vendor asks.

02 / Real testing, no AI listicles

Every review comes from a real paid account or genuine trial that we used ourselves, with our own screenshots and source-verified pricing. We do notpublish AI-generated listicles, recycled vendor marketing, or “best tool” roundups for software we never opened. That refusal is the entire reason this site exists. AI may help us format or check our own notes, but the testing, the verdict, and the words are ours.

03 / How we make money

Recurring affiliate commissions on some outbound links, and a free newsletter. No paid placements, no sponsored rankings, no “featured” slots sold to vendors. Commissions fund the licenses and test runs behind the reviews - see the full FTC disclosure.

04 / Rankings are never for sale

There is no price for a higher score, a top spot, or the removal of a caveat. If a vendor offers it, the answer is no - and we may say so publicly.

05 / Transparent scoring

Every score out of 5 comes from the same five dimensions - capability, true cost and value, reliability, honesty, and fit - judged from hands-on use. The full rubric, including what each score band means, is published openly on our how we test page.

06 / Corrections

If we get a price, a feature, or a test result wrong, we fix it and stamp the updated date. Tell us via the contact pageand we'll correct it quickly.
